# PlanMyCal

> The affordable, intelligent auto-scheduler for Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. PlanMyCal turns your task list into realistic, protected calendar time blocks with smart task splitting, timemaps, and AI-powered scheduling.

## Overview
PlanMyCal is an automated time-blocking and calendar productivity platform designed for busy professionals, developers, managers, and students. It places tasks into free calendar openings when you run Schedule to Calendar, or on the interval set by Automatic Scheduling Frequency (which can be Off). A new meeting is not applied the instant it appears.

## Core Capabilities
- **Google and Outlook**: Connect Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook (Office 365 and Outlook.com). Google access includes calendar plus email and profile. Microsoft access is Calendars.ReadWrite and User.Read. PlanMyCal does not read mail or files and does not edit meetings it did not create. Availability is read when you schedule, or on the interval you set for automatic scheduling (which can be Off). Task events are written only to the Primary Scheduling Calendar. Personal events are not copied onto the other provider, so coworkers who cannot see a personal calendar can still book over it. A second calendar is Pro.
- **Schedule to Calendar**: Places tasks with estimates and deadlines into free calendar time. Fresh start on the Schedule card defaults to on and clears existing PlanMyCal blocks. With no timemap, the built-in window is about 9 AM to 9 PM on any day. There is no Working Hours setting.
- **Smart Task Splitting (Pro)**: Breaks lengthy tasks (e.g., 3-hour project) into manageable focus chunks (e.g., 45-minute blocks) distributed across open calendar slots.
- **Timemaps (Pro)**: Preferred windows on whole hours (for example Monday–Friday 9 AM–7 PM). Unchecked days stay eligible, and a block can run about 30 minutes past the window end. The @ token must match the timemap name exactly, ignoring case (`@"Deep Work"` matches Deep Work; `@DeepWork` does not).
- **Hierarchical Tasks**: Unlimited nested subtasks with automated status and duration rollups.
- **Smart Add shortcuts**: `!p0` Urgent, `!p1` High, `!p2` Medium, `!p3` Normal, `!p4` Low, `!p5` None; `~` start; `^` due; `=` duration or split; `*daily`, `*weekdays`, `*weekly`, `*every 2 weeks`, `*mon,wed,fri` (`*mon` alone and `*every monday` do not parse); `@` exact timemap name; `#` existing list only.
- **Conversational AI Assistant**: Ask PlanMyCal (Gemini-powered) surfaces prioritized actions, summarizes daily schedules, and flags bottleneck tasks. Plan My Day is a briefing plus one focus block (about 90 minutes when a free slot is long enough), not an 8-hour timetable.
- **Calendar data**: Times are read to find free slots and to place task events. Event titles can be read for scheduling, stored when you mark an event done, and sent to Gemini if you use Ask, Plan My Day, Magic Subtasks, or AI parse. PlanMyCal does not sell schedule data and does not copy personal event titles from one provider onto the other.
